I call my show KC Busks. To busk or busking is to put your hat out for donations by your audience while you put on a show. My show is 4 hours of about 50 songs accompanied by guitar at the High Sierra Lanes bowling alley by the request of the bar manager, Mel. In spite of a bout with scoliosis, I love doing this. Generally the crowd rotates through about 100 people over that time. We enjoy the third Friday of the month from 6:00 until 10:00. All of the equipment is mine. Setting up takes me an hour, breaking it down takes about the same amount to equal a six hour stint. I admit that starting this past February 2025, I had to grow into learning what was going to work. Four months ago, my onsite fans talked me into sharing on my YouTube Channel @kevincharleskolesnick7917 which explains the KC part of KC Busks… sorta. My grandmother on my father’s side was a Polish immigrant who married my Ukrainian grandfather in Brooklyn in the 1920’s. She could not say “Kevin” nor “Charles” so KC became my name in 1959 when I returned home from the hospital. I’ve played guitar since I was eleven, bringing me to 55 years so far.
