Описание: Born Cecelia Veronica Peniston in Dayton, Ohio, CeCe, as she would be more commonly referred to, spent the majority of her formative years in Phoenix, Arizona. A self-described “military brat”, she got her first start singing before her congregation in church. She also performed in plays, musicals, karaoke contests and talent shows while learning to play the piano. By the age of 11, CeCe knew singing was what she wanted to do for a living and that one day, she would see her name in lights. After graduating from high school, she did continue her education, for a short while, at a community college studying liberal arts. While there, she got involved in beauty pageants, winning Miss Black Arizona in 1989 and Miss Galaxy the following year. These years would also serve as a springboard for CeCe to develop her skills in writing lyrics.
