Sahara: the hottest place on earth. In Mauritania, the Atlantic coast is controlled by the Spanish guard to prevent illegal trades. It is a place where lots of immigrants live and where fishing turns into profit.
A place that offers them the necessary conditions, but not always pleasant. From the smells to the conditions of work, there is a lot to unpack and explore in this area. It is a place where lots of people feel left behind, a point of hope to reach Europe.
Black/Current is a space to provide both educational and entertaining content primarily by or about Black people. That’s Black Brits, Black Americans, Black Africans, Black Canadians, Black Australians and so forth. There is a really loud desire for diverse voices and stories and we want to be a part of that conversation.
