MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (Larry Davis) - It's an address that's had more than its fair share of police runs in a local neighborhood.
It's not a bar or home, but the lodge for a fraternal organization.
The latest problem? A double shooting near there on Wednesday night.
Middletown Police Major Mark Hoffman says the Elks Club has a long history of trouble, including drug problems and shootings.
On Wednesday night, two men were wounded when witnesses say someone fired seven to ten shots from a car on Eighth Avenue, not far from the club.
Police are looking for three suspects, Chris Lewis, Edward Lewis and Shawn Campbell.
Edward Hill with Elks Local 456 contends that the shooting did not take place on the club's property but he does admit that the Elks' parking lot is a trouble spot.
Neighbor of the property Aaron Robinson has seen and heard it all, including gunfire. He thinks the Elks' Club should be shut down.
Major Hoffman said that police have talked to management about the trouble, but they're running out of patience.
Hill says he's working to improve security around the club.
As for the possibility of the city imposing its nuisance ordinance and closing the Elks Club?
Elks Club management says they've taken steps in recent years to curb trouble. For example, they raised the age for admittance to 25, and they're now checking for weapons at the door.
