This WWII era receiver receives from 6.0 to 9.1 MHz. Back in the day, it was part of the ARC-5 Command Set. A matching transmitter would have been the R-27/ARC-5. This one has a power supply added but the receiver is not working. After the war, hams picked these up for a fair price and modified them for amateur radio use. I can see that in addition to the power supply, there is an S-Meter on the front, and an RCA phono jack on the rear. I have no idea what this jack is for. There is a short harness coming out of the rear of the chassis with 295 VDC present. So, the power supply is definitely working.
