We have several new, bold and architecturally beautiful bridges around the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. They are all cable suspended and one is claimed to be the widest bridge in the world. Here's the view of three from the HD Dash-cam. Watch in Hi Def if you can.
The Golden Ears Bridge: 978 metres (3209 feet) Long, six lanes plus bicycle/footpaths, 40 metres (131 feet) above the Fraser River, with towers 90 metres (295 feet) tall.
The Pitt River Bridge: 500 meters (1,640 feet) long, 8 lanes plus footpath wide, with a 16 meter (52 foot) clearance Over the Pitt River
The 'New' Port Mann Bridge: 2020 meters (6,627 feet) long, 10 lanes plus pathways - 65 meters (214 feet) wide, towers 163 meters (535 feet) tall, 42 meters (138 feet) clearance to the Fraser River,
By the way, and this is not a 'goody two-shoes' note, the camera is started, stopped and directed while I'm pulled over, in accordance with the "Anti-distracted driving" laws we have in BC. (1) I can't afford the fines and (2) I like my vehicle without dents and abrasions. Distracted driving isn't worth the potential hassle.
Recorded with a Sony CX110, edited and produced using Cyberlink PowerDirector 11 Ultimate.
