This is my first pen video! The cob of corn was previously shucked and dried. Cobs of corn similar to this one are often husked and used as animal feed, which made it the perfect candidate for a pen blank. Thank you for watching!
I used a heavily concentrated, transparent wood dye to stain the cob of corn. I simply diluted it with a little bit of water and applied the stain with a sponge brush. I used thin CA glue in the attempt to fill in the little holes in the blank left behind by the corn kernels. I am not sure it was a great idea because when I sprayed the activator, the glue immediately cracked. Anyways, I think it turned out really well!
