I have been using Fusion for several years, and felt it was time to try something new. It is for that reason I decided to go to D-Star. I debated between the Icom Id-4100 and the ID-5100 for many weeks but seeing that there was only a $60.00 difference between the two I decided to get the ID-5100A Deluxe.
If you like a radio that is as easy to program a repeater as a cell phone is to program a number then the Icom ID-5100A is for you. A repeater can be programmed into the ID-5100A in less than a minute with out dealing with a labor intensive menu system.
