The National Drug Authority has spread its compliance operations to Masaka, closing more than 35 drug outlets that were operated by unlicensed personnel. Some 150 boxes of assorted medicines worth 37.5 million shillings were impounded, and two people were arrested for possession of government medical stores. The NDA spokesperson, Abiaz Rwamwiri, explained that the closed outlets were found to be unauthorized, substandard, and unlicensed. Area security officials are now holding Loy Kibira and Ali Kawuki, who were found selling drugs in unauthorized merchandise shops.
