Governor Stitt on severe winter weather response and Minneapolis shooting

Описание: Governor Kevin Stitt talked about the recent shooting in Minneapolis on CNN's State of the Union as the Chair of the National Governors Association (NGA).

Alex Jeffrey Pretti, 37, was fatally shot by a U.S. Border Patrol officer in Minneapolis on Saturday. He was an intensive care nurse at a Veterans Affairs hospital.

When asked if he was comfortable with what President Trump's administration was doing in Minnesota, Stitt said, "This is a real tragedy, and I think that the death of Americans, what we're seeing on TV, it's causing deep concerns over federal tactics and accountability," Stitt said. "Americans don't like what they're seeing now."

Stitt called for real immigration reform, saying states should have the authority for workforce permits.

"We're overcomplicating this," Stitt said. "Other counties have figured this out. Don't give them U.S. citizenship, but if you're going to have an employer-employee relationship, we should be fixing that instead of politicizing this. Right now, tempers are just going crazy, and we need to calm this down."
