In this video, David Feldman shows two types of chord charts: Lyric Charts, which show Nashville numbers above lyrics to indicate chord changes, and standard Nashville number charts, which use a set chord length protocol for each number. You’ll see examples of both and learn how to pencil in dot diagrams above each chord to easily identify note options based on your chosen hand orientation. While this helps with quick reference, it only works for one hand orientation at a time. The goal is to eventually memorize these patterns, allowing you to eventually switch hand orientations within a song.
