Описание:
Throwing water on a burning oil pan is extremely dangerous.
When water touches very hot oil, it rapidly turns into steam. Steam occupies about 1700 times more volume than liquid water. This rapid expansion ejects burning oil droplets into the air, spreading the fire violently.
Correct response to small oil fires:
Turn off heat source
Cover the pan with a metal lid
Never use water
Use fire extinguisher (Class B) if available
This video explains the physics and safety science behind kitchen grease fires.
