How to Bid on a Steffes Auction

Описание: In this tutorial, we will explain how to bid online at a Steffes Group auction while focusing on key features to enhance your bidding experience. In order to place a bid, you must first log in to your Steffes Group.com online profile. If you don’t have an account please view our previous video “How to Register”.

Once logged in, you will see your online bidder number on the left along with your name and our full list of auctions on the right. Scroll to the auction you are interested in and click on the auction name to enter. You will then be brought to the auction’s page with the complete lot listings. Next, you’ll need to click the red “Request to Bid” button, which is located above the lot gray tabs or inside each lot.

After clicking the red “Request to Bid” button, you will be taken to the terms and conditions for this specific auction, please read through this as it contains vital information about buyer’s premium, acceptable forms of payment, and specific state sales tax information. Once you are acquainted with the auction’s terms you can click the yellow “Accept Terms” button at the bottom of the page.

You are now approved to bid! Head to the exact lot you wish to place a bid and click the green “Place a Bid!” button. Once you click the green “Place a Bid!” button, a small prompt will appear that shows the current bid and a green box to place a single bid or a maximum bid. If you decide to place a maximum bid, the auction platform will bid for you up to the dollar amount entered. If the maximum dollar amount is reached, you have the option to submit singe bids or place another maximum bid as the auction continues.

Below the green bid box, you will see a red text link to “Bid Increments”, which will show you how the bid increments are created for each lot according to bid amounts. After placing a bid, you will either get a green thumbs-up, which denotes you have the highest bid, or a red thumbs down which means someone has a higher bid or maximum bid.

Once the auction has completed, you will receive an invoice via email to make a payment. Once you receive your invoice call the office number listed to make a payment. Our offices are open from 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday; and will accept a check over the phone or fax, wired funds, or credit card (+3% service fee). We will not accept a mailed check.
