Martial arts is not just an external experience. There is a lot more involved. Yes, it provides fitness and are tools for the development of different fighting systems but it is much more!
Martial arts challenged me to look internally and my own flaws - taught me values I will keep dear to my heart and at the forefront of my mind on a daily basis. In reality, it taught me to strive to always be the best version of myself. To constantly try and better myself.
The idea that you train to be a warrior, but you hopefully also become much more than this. Perhaps, it is because I personally started training Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art. Which taught me not only the physical aspects but also to a new language, exposed me to a different culture and people, spiritual beliefs and philosophies. I will be posting more about Capoeira here in the upcoming videos. Stay tuned for that!
Essentially, these are some of my favorite books related to Martial Arts Philosophy. If you have some that you like, share it in the comments section. I forgot to include another favorite that I read for the first time at the age of 12. The Art Of War - Sun Tzu. I have re-read it many times since and of course each time I do, I interpret it differently.
Thank you for your time in watching and reading the description section too!
