I never got why Tandemaus had to level up specifically through battle in order to evolve, but at least that got us a free Elira reaction to their battle animations.

While journeying to a certain electric gym, Elira gets the sudden urge to collect a mouse duo. And lo and behold, they appear - twice - right next to the city! Some time passes, she shoves a bunch of candy down their throats, they evolve, and Elira can rejoice in the added babies. Until chat makes it weird, of course.
