WATCH: Harris urges senators not to 'pretend' they don't know Barrett's view on Roe v. Wade

Kamala Harris, D-Calif., noted on the second day of Judge Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Barrett had quoted the testimony of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg about not making predictions in future cases. However, Harris said, the late justice was much more forthcoming about her stance on "the essential rights of women." The senator listed several instances in the past where Barrett had weighed in on Roe v. Wade. Then Harris urged her fellow lawmakers to "not pretend" that the nominee's stance on a woman's right to choose and control her own health care was not clear. The Supreme Court nominee's personal anti-abortion opinions were the subject of many questions during the confirmation hearings. The Oct. 13 hearing comes three weeks before Election Day. The second of four days of scheduled testimony gave senators an opportunity to ask Barrett about her record and approach to the law.
