Описание: Kicking off the second week of Canada’s federal election campaign, new polling shows the Liberals are firmly in the lead. The Ipsos poll conducted for Global News shows 44 per cent of decided voters support Mark Carney’s Liberals. That’s up two points from polling conducted before the election call and is in majority election territory. Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives also climbed two points, with those gains coming at the expense of smaller parties, including the NDP whose support has fallen to nine per cent. Mackenzie Gray reports.

Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre was campaigning in Toronto as polls show the Greater Toronto Area could be decisive in this election. Poilievre announced another tax break and brushed off concerns about turmoil within the Conservative Party, pitching himself as the best choice to stand up to U.S. President Donald Trump. Kyle Benning has more.

New rules coming into effect on April 11 will require Canadians visiting the U.S. for more than 30 days to register with the American government. The rise in Canadian pride, fueled by Trump’s threats of annexation, has already led to a decrease in the number of drivers crossing the border. Heidi Petracek reports.
