Описание: Stop the genocide! Hands off Rafah! Stop Arming Israel! Palestinian Protest. Belmore Park for speakers followed by a March on The Student Encampment at The University of Sydney. 12th of May 2024.

The speeches took place at Belmore Park near Central Station in Sydney. There were a number of speakers including a Dr that had just returned from Gaza, the President of the National Tertiary Education Union and the Palestinian Encampment organiser from Sydney Uni.

After the speeches they marched along Broadway to the University of Sydney and the Palestinian Encampment outside The Quadrangle.

A strange thing then happened. I was completely unhindered in my recording of this historic march from Belmore Park to the Palestinian Student Encampment at the University of Sydney. That is, until I reached the gates of the University of Sydney, when the New South Wales Police Force had to stop walking along with the protest, as it moved into the university grounds, then, with the police force gone, the full force of the Palestinian organisers came down upon me.

I know I'm going back in time now as I currently convert all my Telegram videos to YouTubes. I’m doing this in January of 2026. And this protest took place in May of 2024. But it does not excuse the actions of the PAG organisers. In particular Damian Ridgwell. His actions on the day as a senior representative of The Palestine Action Group were particularly unsavory. It goes a long way in showing the character of a man to be meek and mild when authority is nearby then to puff out his chest and to do what he did when the authorities left.

Whereas josh Lees, the groups leader, giving him full credit for his actions, always seemed to stay in control of his emotions. This can be seen in the footage as he tries to calm down ‘Palestinian Bob’ as he chants at the customers inside the Starbucks store on Broadway.

As I said though, that was a long time ago, and everything is (seemingly) OK now in 2026. I believe the organisers finally realised that the weekly footage of several people representing their cause constantly harassing one man was not a good look for them. The word must have come down from above to cease and desist.
