Описание: This is a video about the graveyard of lakes near Sanghar in Sindh, where more than 100 lakes are buried. This is the Chotiari Dam which is located on the edge of the White Desert of Sindh.

The dam was completed in 2002 and was previously home to several natural lakes. By the 1990s, there were more than 100 lakes here. Then to supply water to the agricultural lands, all these lakes were combined and shaped like a dam. The area of this dam is more than 4000 acres.

There is a small island on Chotiari Dam where there is a deserted mansion. On the other side there is another mansion. Both these mansions are more than 100 years old. The mansions on the island have been uninhabited since 1947 and the site is owned by the Junejo tribe.

This place is also famous for the freedom struggle of Hurs. Hurs used to hide in these mansions who used to fight with the British. Muhammad Hayat Junejo and Kareem Dad Junejo own them. Eminent leaders of the Azadi movement have visited here. These mansions are not in very good shape now.

It is said that there was a very dense forest in this place. Chotiari Dam is also a refuge for migratory birds. More than 40 species of birds come here in the month of November and stay here for about 4 months. Apart from this, more than 100 species of birds are found here. While more than 50 species of water and land animals are also found here.

It is said that the water level in Chotiari Dam is the same. There are also many speedboats that can be used to travel around the lake. Different types of fish are also found here. This is the reason why fishermen are seen here in large numbers. Fishermen hunt these fish. Chotiari Dam is the breeding ground for Sindh's well-known rho fish. The same fish is also used in the famous Fish Saji here.

Chotiari Dam is also called Baqar Lake which is situated on the banks of Nara Canal. A ten-gate regulator is installed here to deliver water. The depth of this lake is said to be more than 20 feet and it is spread over an area of 80 km.

It is also known as the gate of the Achro Thar desert. A rest house is also built here for an overnight stay. Chotiari Dam is a must-visit destination for any tourist. But watch the video to find out WHY! And let me know what your favorite place in Sindh is?
