Welcome to my bird feeder livestream. This is a real backyard bird feeding station with real birds and real sounds. Nothing is pre-recorded and there is no additional audio added. What you see and hear is what's really happening. If you want to learn more about me and the feeder, read on!
My name is Andy and I started feeding birds daily at this location in September 2024. I don't think a day has gone by that I haven't filled the feeders when they needed. The feeder is perched on a hill overlooking beautiful downtown Newaygo, Michigan. The business district and elementary school are just off camera to the left. That means that in addition to birds singing, chirping, and fighting you'll hear sounds of real Small Town America. Traffic, sirens, even kids playing at the nearby school playground. Directly behind the houses in the background, the Muskegon River winds its way another 30 miles to Lake Michigan. Newaygo sits at the southern end of the Manistee National Forest which spans for thousands of acres to the north.
I've enjoyed running this livestream and watching my own birds so much that I've created a new website called Bird Passport. It's main purpose is to give people a place to log the birds they see. You can use it with this livestream, or you can use your own backyard habitats to log birds you see at your own home, or a local park. It's not complicated or scientific, it's meant to be casual and fun. Take 5-15 minutes a day to slow down, log the birds you see, and then go on with your day. I invite you to learn more at birdpassport.com, and I hope to see you there. 🐦
You can bookmark this page and come back whenever you want. It's live all day, every day.
Regularly seen birds:
black-capped chickadee
american goldfinch
house finch
blue jay
downy woodpecker
hairy woodpecker
white-breasted nuthatch
red-breasted nuthatch
tufted titmouse
GROUND CAM
The Ground Cam is shown in the bottom right corner. This camera is directly below the main camera and points at the ground where you can watch critters eat seed and drink water from the water dish. You'll regularly see squirrels, mourning doves, and deer. At night you might see raccoons, opossums, cats, and other creatures of the night!
If you are financially able and would like to help keep seed in the feeders and the livestream running smoothly you can donate through paypal at https://andysbirds.com/donate -- Thank you!
