'Scoffers' - from II Peter 3

Описание: II Peter 3 is one of the most haunting chapters in the Bible concerning the Return of Christ. When i wrote this and put the music together my first impression was 'this is sort of a dark song'. But then I realized duh...it's a dark chapter in some ways. Repeating the first verse didn't help any and gave it even a darker feeling. There are scoffers out there though and it's not all roses for the world when He returns. Worldwide war has never been seen before. But the hope of II Peter 3 is that God is longsuffering. He is patient and giving mankind time to repent. In the Bible there are more prophecies about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ than any other event. It is the major theme, He will return and everything changes, everything. That's our hope. That's why the verse says "So make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him. And grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever."

I hope this song challenges us to be a constant witness to the dark world we live in. God is patiently drawing mankind to Himself. Be a shing light for Jesus Christ. ....shine on.

But do not forget the Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. The heavens will disappear with a roar. The elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.
