Article 1 deals with the Name and Territory of India.

India, that is Bharat, shall be a Union of States.
🔹 Key Points
Two official names
India and Bharat are both constitutional names.
Union of States
India is not a federation formed by states voluntarily.
States do not have the right to secede.
Indestructible Union
The Union (India) is permanent and supreme.
Destructible States
States can be created, merged, divided, or have boundaries changed by Parliament (Article 3).
