Seattle mayor denies police guild's allegations of open drug use arrest suspension

Описание: New mayor Katie Wilson has denied the Seattle Police Officers Guild's (SPOG) allegations of a directive that ordered officers to halt open drug use arrests.

The Seattle Police Officers Guild issued a statement on Sunday night that a directive from city leadership halted open drug use arrests and instead promoted diversion program recommendations.

According to the Seattle Police Officers Guild (SPOG), city leadership told officers to stop arresting people for open drug use.

In their statement, SPOG called the decision naive and ignorant, saying the policy will create more death and societal decay.
