Just a short video of some tips to really get your square crab pots to produce. The biggest problem is weight. Alone they will be pushed around in current, swell, etc. Weighing them down keeps them on the bottom and from moving so that vrabs are comfortable moving into the cage after the bait. Also spend the little extra money on weighted iron rope don't use shit ropes with weights every 25 feet, just make it tough as shit to pull and wraps up in passing boat props. Also spend the little money on a buoy, always see makeshift oil jug buoys. With good current those easily dive under and again damage passing boat props. Also bait positioning is a key factor and I decide on soak time. Also don't be afraid to through in a loose carcas with your bait bucket.

Squid
Mackerel
Herring
Anchovy
SALMON CARCASS!!!!! (big producer in bay area crab)
Rock Cod carcass
The oily the better need to spread that sent far and wide
