Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Arcade Mode | Rock Howard

You guys know I'm doing this to keep this channel going right? If you've been keeping up, then you know I got this game on a sale. I didn't pay full price when I got this. So, what better way than to get started doing this. Welcome to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

We waited 26 years for a new Fatal Fury game, and the wait was a painful one. Now SNK returns with a brand-new game and yes, it's set in the Fatal Fury continuity. City of the Wolves takes place one year after the events of Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Rock Howard & Kain R. Heinlein have investigated where Marie (Rock's mom) is located. Surprisingly, she's still alive but under the custody of Mr. Big. And Mr. Big wants Geese's legacy in exchange. The legacy being the sacred scrolls. Remember those from Fatal Fury 3? Remember when Geese ordered Billy to destroy them? Well turns out they weren't destroyed. They were kept safe. As Rock and Kain were ready to exchange them, they end up getting stolen. And thus, a new King of Fighters come about with the price being Geese's Legacy, the Sacred Scrolls.

Arcade Mode has us going through every character's story from beginning to end. There are seven battles with the sixth has you facing off against the character's rival. In the case of Rock, it's Terry Bogard. The man who raised Rock after the death of Geese. But the final boss on the other hand is a version of Rock Howard known as Fallen Rock. Basically, he's a version of Rock that has fallen under Geese's influence. He is just that brutal to boot. My first time going through it, I lost five times. On difficulty 4. Don't even think of me going through difficulty 5 because there's a hidden boss fight. A secret one. Nightmare Geese.

As for Rock's ending, he finds his mother and is reunited with her with the help of Kain and Billy. Terry, seeing that Rock can now hold his own and his happy heads back to South Town. He thanks him for everything, and I say it's a satisfying end.

We do Arcade Mode with Rock and let me tell you, this game ain't easy but I will persevere. See you for when we do Arcade with the Hungry Wolf, Terry Bogard.
