Egg donation is widely used for IVF nowadays. It is used for two categories of women.
Women who have failed ovary- These kinds of women are women who have premature menopause, women born without ovaries and woman who have had their ovaries removed during surgery known as Bilateral ovariectomy and women who are menopausal.
The second category is women who still have functioning ovaries- These kinds of women are at risk of passing on genetic diseases.
Women who have had failed IVF due to age, or women who have inaccessible ovaries.
Age and fertility are factors for IVF. As a woman grows older, the quality and quantity of her eggs start to decrease.
If a woman is less than 30 years old, there is a higher chance that the IVF will be successful if she is using her own eggs
If a woman is 35 and above, the success rate drops.
