Today marks the third round for Season 11 of the SimRacing International (SRi) GT3 Championship as brought to you on iRacing with this broadcast focused on Split-A!

In this round our drivers shall take on the young in life but old-school in spirit Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. More commonly referred to as the “Portimão Circuit” in reference to the nearby city, this course may have only opened in 2008 but it is widely respected by drivers at all levels. With constant undulations dominating its 2.85 mile length, many liken it to older circuits such as the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Spa-Francorchamps. However, with its wide road surface, it also has the modern thrill of overtaking opportunities at every corner!

In the ELITE class, despite it being a day of mixed fortunes for Vulkan Motorsports at Daytona, Lewis Kenyon was able to secure his second podium of the season and a sixth place finish to move to the top. Yet, he will have little room to relax with William Humphrey only five points behind still eagerly chasing his first win of the season; and Milton Tomlinson-Dennis a further 22 points adrift buoyant after taking his first win last week!

In the PRO class, Fotis Katechos’s superb double-podium including a win last week has catapulted him to the top 18 points ahead of Rhys Saunders. Meanwhile, for Saunders and many others it was either a round to forget or one of mixed fortunes; arguably none more so than for Ville Ketonen after his win in race one was completely undermined by his retirement from the second race. Can Katechos stay one step ahead of his recovering rivals?
