Lorena Guimaraes, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, and David Meyer Fleisch, a U.S. Army Veteran, are alumni of Palm Beach State College (PBSC) based in Palm Beach County, Florida. Learn how Palm Beach State played an important role in their transition to civilian life. PBSC helped them find a community again with other student veterans. Through campus student veterans clubs and the College’s Veterans Success Center, they felt welcomed and part of a team. Both completed their educations, ultimately earning master’s and bachelor’s degrees respectively, and have found rewarding careers.
