Congress leader Debabrata Saikia condemned the alleged Bajrang Dal vandalism at Christmas markets in Nalbari, accusing the BJP-led Assam government of fostering a climate of communal hostility to mask development failures. Highlighting a perceived hypocrisy between the Prime Minister’s public gestures and the actions of affiliate organizations on the ground, Saikia asserted that the state’s inaction violates Article 25 of the Constitution and directly threatens religious harmony.
