Today, we’re back with the other soda from Stephanie and Lord Pilk’s journey to Iceland...except it’s not really soda so much as it’s sparkling water! Kristall Sparkling Water with Mexican Lime Flavor is our drink of choice this week, because Vikings need to hydrate too.

Okay, so I expected (as I often do with foreign drinks) that if I found information on who makes this sparkling water, it would be minimal. But DAMN y’all, this must be the fountain of youth because I couldn’t find ANYTHING other than an unsubstantiated name of some dude called Árni Björnsson who either founded the company in 1985 or 2011. So...this is secret Viking water now. There, I said it. (UPDATE: I looked at the bottle a little closer. It’s the same people who made the soda from two weeks ago. Sometimes I read with my soul, not my eyes, I guess. Seriously, I wasted so much time, lol.)

So does this sparkling water taste better than the sparkling water in America? And will I taste the Mexican (why specifically that country?) limes? The scent was promising, with a like citrus aroma that I found pleasant. That was the only thing I found pleasant. First things first, this drink is “lightly carbonated” in the same way that penguins can “lightly fly.” Spoiler alert: they can’t and it ain’t. This tastes as if someone dipped an unpeeled lime into some water a couple of times and said “Good enough.” This is probably why the Vikings left Iceland to go raid some monasteries. The Dark Ages are a result of this...but I should probably be clear that I don’t really like sparkling water in the first place so this was an uphill battle. I don’t think this really made it to the hill though. I’m hydrated, BUT AT WHAT COST?
