tl;dr plot summary
basically sedgeheart (dark tabby) and heatherfur (pale brown cat) were friends as apprentices but grew really distance as sedgeheart fell into the wrong crowd and got meaner. sedgeheart had an unrequited crush on heatherfur and only got angrier when she had kits. eventually hearthfur was killed in an attack on the camp while sedgeheart was out hunting. moons later sedgeheart is made the mentor of heatherfur's only surviving kit, emberpaw. sedgeheart is angry about this but eventually warms up to emberpaw and eventually sacrifices herself to save emberpaw from a rogue attack. she reunites with heatherfur in starclan
