The WCPO (Women and children protection office) is an office of the San Jose ang Tagapagtanggol parish in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City in Metro Manila (Philippines). The aim of the office is to protect women's and children's rights and to promote a childfriendly parish.
Among the activities of the WCPO are workshops and advocacies to raise awareness for issues like human trafficking, physical and sexual child abuse and domestic violence. Further more volunteers (kids, teens and adults) are trained to become children rights advocates (CRAs). The CRAs help to promote children's rights in the community and help to identify cases of abuse.
Victims of all kinds of abuse recieve direct help from the office or are referred and accompanied to other government and non-government organizations.
While the office was originally initiated by SPCC with funds from the austrian DKA (Dreikoenigsaktion, "Sternsinger"), it is now independent and fully managed by CRA volunteers as an office of the San Jose Parish under the superwision of the Diocesan Pastoral Care for Women and Children office.
To provide funds for the countless activities of the office (as described above), the WCPO adopted the "Sternsinger" tradition from Austria. According to the Motto "children help children", CRA volunteers visit benefactors within the parish community and partner organizations and sing christmas carols. They ask for a donation and bless the houses they visited with the writing 20-C+M+B-14, which means "Christus mansionem benedicat" - "Christ bless your house/ office" in the year 2014.
The songs performed in this video are:
"Angels we have heared on high" (Gloria) and
"O holy night" ("Fall on your knees")
