Mangkolemba, it is one of the largest sub-division in Nagaland. Mangkolemba is under Mokokchung district, a home to Ao Naga tribe. There are 6 mountain ranges in Mokokchung district, out of which 3 falls under this sub-division; Tzurangkong, Japukong and Jangpetkong (Changkikong). It covers more than 40 villages under 3 administrative circles Longchem, Alongkima and Merangmen.
Mangkolemba is around 67KM from Mokokchung town and close to Assam which is a place worth visiting.
In fact the Ao tribe is first Naga tribe to embrace Christianity in Nagaland.
Nonetheless it was from this sub-division. The year 1872, marked the birth of Christianity at Molungkimong village and 1878 marked the establishment of formal school at Molungyimsen through the American Baptist Missionary Rev. Dr. E W Clark.
At Mongchen village one can spot a place of two legendary lovers Jena and Etiben called the Romeo and Juliet of the Ao Naga tribes.
