Kathmandu To Syapru Besi Via Public Vehicle Trek To Pahiro |Lantang Valley Winter Trek | Day 1 |

Описание: Our Langtang Valley Trek started with purchasing bus tickets from Machhapokhari for Rs. 960 per person. The staff informed us that the bus would leave at exactly 7:30 AM the next day. I arrived at the bus stand at 6:45 AM, loaded my backpack, and reserved a seat for my friend Susan, who was running late. He almost missed the bus, but we managed to pick him up from Samakhusi.

The first 15 minutes of the journey were uphill, and we started cracking jokes. Other trekkers were also on the bus, adding to the lively atmosphere. Around 20 minutes into the ride, we entered Shivapuri National Park and caught our first glimpse of the mountains—a truly joyful moment. After an hour, we reached Bidur, located in the Inner Terai of Nepal, where the bus fueled up.

To enjoy the best views, we decided to sit at the front near the driver. The breathtaking scenery made the journey unforgettable. As we progressed, more locals filled the bus. We had our homemade lunch during the ride, which added a comforting touch to the adventure.

At Dhunche, a Nepali Army base, the entire bus and our bags were searched at a checkpoint. Entrance fees were Rs. 100 for Nepalis, Rs. 1,500 for SAARC nationals, and Rs. 3,000 for other foreigners. By 2:45 PM, we reached Syapru Besi and enjoyed coffee and biscuits at Hotel Old Namaste.

Our trek officially began at 4:47 PM as we headed toward Domen. Along the way, we admired stunning waterfalls and noticed the newly constructed Langtang Khola Hydropower Project (20 MW). After trekking uphill, we arrived at Pahiro, where we interacted with a friendly local staff member who invited us to stay at his hotel.

At Pahiro, we received a warm welcome, enjoyed a hearty meal, and rested for the night with a 5:30 AM alarm set for the next day’s trek. Day 1 was an incredible start to our Langtang Valley journey.
