Solo Grandmaster Nightfall: Liminality - Hunter (Platinum)

I spent a bit longer in the boss room than I anticipated, so I may go for a faster completion before weekly reset (subscribe & stay tuned). With that said, this was probably the most treacherous solo GM I have done up to this point. The length of Liminality is what distinguishes it as nightmare rather than a nightfall, ha... But really, I didn't feel like any portion of it was particularly more difficult than previous GMs, it's just that dying and resetting the run feels so much worse when you are 15-20 minutes deep.

I have some advice for those of you who are looking to draw inspiration from this video / the build. Specifically for soloing this, I think instead of going Liars/Caliban (like I did) there are better options. Caliban is nice for ad clear in first room with wizards & cursed thrall, and again in rising lava room before boss, however it is not necessary or even advisable tbh (I used it to save time). Using the actual Liars Handshake gauntlets is incredibly valid, plus you'll get the heal. The Assassin/Liars exotic class item roll is what I would be using if I wasn't using caliban/liar, the lengthened and non-cooldown restricted invis allow for much more freedom - do not sleep on this roll it is S tier.

I can't even tell if I was trolling or not with my weaponry, probably a little bit. But I chose buried bloodline #1 for the one unstop champ before rising lava room b4 boss, #2 for devour to potentially save me in scary moments and #3 void surge (also occasionally weakening on hit w/ catalyst). One two punch shotgun is a given, and for heavy I used commemoration. Reconstruction is nice so you don't have to reload. Basically after you equip a one-two punch shotgun, just find some good weapons that deal high precision damage for the boss; Izanagi is really good. I tried forerunner, it was alright damage, but idk I wasn't a huge fan. other good options: Leviathans Breath, Whisper of the Worm, Graviton Lance, Outbreak Perfected, and for legendary; Linear Fusion Rifle or LMG. Solar Snipers paired with new artifact perks are also solid for boss dps.

General tips/advice for this; just know when/where champs are and have a plan with how you are going to deal with them. You can skip 1 champion and still achieve platinum (I skipped the second barrier champ at beginning), I see a lot of people skipping the barrier before boss room too. At 4:28 I kill Kerr-ath, which if you manage to do will prevent him (or her? they) from showing up in boss room. Not necessary but I figure if it's gonna have to die anyways might as well do it early and make boss room less tough.

For the first big room with all of the wizards and cursed thralls, caliban is nice for aiming your melee kill towards the thralls because the corpse explodes - solar fulmination artifact perk paired with caliban is nice for that room and rising lava room before boss, just igniting and killing everything. Like I said, Caliban is not necessary - the AOE from freezing everything with winter's shroud paired w/ facet of ruin is enough to kill a big pack of ads.
Also if you are planning on using something other than grapple, please don't. It is the only viable option, no cap. If you are going this build, the mobility and powered melee it provides is a genuine get-out-of-jail free card.

Boss room isn't too bad if you know what is going on. Please watch either myself or someone else complete the boss room before going in dry yourself, it will save you a lot of headache. I opted to kill all of the ads before doing DPS/ahamkara skull rooms. This room is also why I put a solar resist mod on chest, the hive knights are no joke. If the boss hits you with one of those suppression projectiles, start praying.
