The escalating conflict is Yemen has created the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Almost 75 percent of the country’s total population is in need of humanitarian assistance, 14 million people are facing pre-famine conditions, and the collapse of essential public institutions has led to a severe economic decline. With suffering reaching unprecedented levels, a political solution is imperative to effectively respond to this rapidly deteriorating situation.
How is the international community responding to this crisis and what is the role of the United States? Do humanitarian agencies have the resources and access they need to deliver aid effectively? Join us for a conversation with Senator Todd Young (R-IN) and David Beasley, Executive Director of the World Food Programme, to discuss the policy solutions and action needed to improve the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
