This is the beautiful Carrickfergus, originally brought to fame by Dominic Behan who apparently learned it from Peter O'Toole and which is of 19th Century extraction in turn. It is based on the town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, Ireland. This is an expression of one of the many Irish songs which I've loved growing up. The song is referenced in Ed Sheeran's Galway Girl, which I've also covered on this channel. Hope you enjoy.
