We headed out in the peak of the Texas heat to the Surfside Jetty in Freeport, TX, chasing some keeper speckled trout with live shrimp and croaker. At first, the bite seemed slow… but as soon as we got there, the action fired up and trout started coming in left and right. On top of that, a few pompano showed up and made things even more exciting. Nothing beats spending a hot summer day fishing with my dad and getting into some solid Texas saltwater action.
