Carbon Fiber Varis Style Front Lip and Upper Splitters on an F80 M3

Описание: Installing a carbon fiber Varis Style front lip and upper splitters from RW Carbon on my Yas Marina F80 M3.

July kind of got away from me, but in addition to some home reno projects I managed to finally install my exhaust upgrade (that video is coming soon), hit up the Lancaster Supercar Cruise (video also coming soon) and get some new carbon fiber pieces on (see here!).

This was definitely one of those "not everything went to plan" mods.. as you'll see in the video, but admittedly my tone was slightly melodramatic; it wasn't that bad and the replacement is on the way, for which I'll probably make a video.

One thing I forgot to point out was the screw holes in this lip. There are 16 total but only 10 get used (per the instructions). I thought the 2 center front ones were for the existing bolts under the front but, for me, they would have caused an alignment issue and I ended up leaving them in place. The 2 screws on either side, however, get used and they're offset enough from the outer factory bolts to not cause any issues.

I ended up using the 5 on each side (4 on the side and the one on the outer center on each side) plus one extra on the driver side to close up a little bit of a gap.

As I mention for the upper splitters, you absolutely don't need much in the way of double sided tape to get these things on securely and I think I had better luck putting the tape on the inside of the splitter as opposed to on the car before installing.

Overall I LOVE the look of the lip; it certainly takes things up a notch. I'm not 100% sold on the splitters. I do have the replacement set on the way but, once they get here, I'll probably take off the bad one and then reevaluate whether or not it looks better without them. I might also see if I can fix the bent one once it's off the car.. we'll see.

In any case, next up will be figuring out which side skirts and rear diffuser to go with; gotta complete the look. In the meantime, I have a small exhaust rattle to figure out.
