Home Cooked Sea Food in Kashid. Best seafood experience and homely food at Swami Krupa Farm House.

Every time I decide to go on a food journey, the excitement and enthusiasm of travelling, exploring food and most importantly the journey is so overwhelming that I can barely sleep the night before. This night was nothing different. I was planning this vlog ever since I visited this place on Kashid Beach where the sea food, the beach and the vibe always made me coming back for more.

This was my first vacation post the lockdown. Last few months have been crazy and depressing for everyone due to the pandemic. However, this trip was just the relaxation I needed to get away from the city.
The drive wasn't smooth, there roads here are really bad and construction has been going on for a while now.

While travelling to the place, I got a change to visit a local fish market. This is the place where local fishermen see the fresh catch every morning and then local fish sellers distribute it around and earn a living.
While I was sinking in the vibe of this place, the sound of the waves and the absolutely incredible view of the beach, it was time for me to finally fill my belly with some fresh sea food. My love for seafood has got me here and I wanted to savour every bit of it. My host Mahesh was kind enough to let me in their kitchen where they were preparing the dishes I had ordered. Pomfret & King Mackerel Fry or as the locals call it, Paplet fry and Surmai Fry are the 2 dishes you cannot miss at this shack. Let’s head into the kitchen and see how the preparations come along. The exciting part was, that they were going to prepare these dishes on a traditional wood burned kitchen stove (chulha). This means, the flavours that this chulha is going to give to that fish is going to be mind-blowing, mind-numbing and mouth-watering. Let’s go.

My host also told me that the fish market I saw earlier in the day is where they get their fish from. There is fish seller who picks up their order for that market and delivers to them 1st thing in the morning. Which only means that it is a fresh catch and that makes me more excited.
People here are amazing. There friendliness, hospitality and warm nature make you feel like home.

I spent my day at this shack. I must have ordered 3 to 4 plates of fried fish while I was enjoying the sunset beyond the horizon and cool breeze changing the temperature from humid to nice and cold. Evening went into partying and I just soaking in the vibe of this place, the sound of the waves in the background which was music to my ears.
