Behind the scenes look at the setup of the real-time leaf spring suspension system built for my Chaos Vehicles experiment in Unreal Engine.
In this short breakdown I quickly show parts of the workflow used to create the system, including the skeletal setup in Blender and the Control Rig graph inside Unreal Engine. The goal was to experiment with building a functional old-school suspension system that works in real time using Chaos Vehicles.
The video briefly covers:
• Skeleton and bone hierarchy setup in Blender
• Control Rig constraint logic inside Unreal Engine
• Basic structure of the suspension rig used for the vehicle
This experiment was mainly focused on understanding how mechanical rigging and physics systems can work together in Unreal Engine.
