In my tests, I noticed sudden FPS drops, especially when accessing the options menus. This issue also occurs in MSFS 2020 but only when using DirectX 12. At the time, the explanation was that DX12 was still in BETA. However, I have observed that the same problem persists in MSFS 2024.
These drops happen even with settings on high, running at 60 FPS. When accessing the settings menu and navigating through it, the FPS drops drastically to 6 FPS, and GPU usage hits 100%. The performance only returns to 60 FPS after switching from fullscreen mode to windowed mode. The same issue also occurs when making abrupt camera movements.
My configuration:
