Описание: Please join us in celebrating nominee Yael Farber (South Africa), a multiple award-winning director and playwright whose productions have toured across the globe - earning her a reputation for hard-hitting, controversial works of the highest artistic standard. Her honors range from “Artist of the Year” in her native South Africa to multiple theatre and media awards in Canada, the U.K., and the U.S. most recently, her acclaimed production of Hamlet was produced at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, earning rave reviews from the NY Times. Farber challenges her audiences to settle for “nothing less than a theatre that promises the fiery possibility to face ourselves and one another in our true and unconfined form.”

The League of Professional Theatre Women"s (LPTW) Gilder/Coigney International Theatre Award Program was established In 2011 in honor of Rosamond Gilder and Martha Coigney, two legendary practitioners and diplomats whose work on the international stage proved that theatre knows no boundaries. Presented every three years, this award acknowledges the exceptional work of a non-U.S. theatre woman, promotes expanded visibility and new opportunities for the Awardee and her sister nominees, and fosters connections and networking with LPTW members and local cultural institutions.
