Training Session Summary: I took advantage of the nice weather (no wind!!) and expanded free time on a Sunday to do an extra long training session with Liesel today. We had a lot of material to review and a few new things I have been wanting to introduce. We actually spent about 45 minutes total training today, which is much longer than usual. But at this point in the training, you can see that Liesel is enjoying the additional time spent as she learns new subjects. Today’s training session has been separated into 4 separate videos to better organize the content into easily viewable sections.

Section #3 Video – Introduction to Laying and Working Drags: Once your dog has shown you that they can transfer the retrieving manners they have learned to wild game, you can start doing field drags with your dog. In this video, I explain how to lay a drag. Next, I carefully release Liesel on that drag track for her to find and retrieve the game she has just been introduced to.
