Mahayuti Wins Mumbai Municipal Corporation Election | Thackeray Bastion Falls After 28 Years

Описание: The Mahayuti alliance led by BJP and Shiv Sena has registered a massive victory in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, ending the Thackeray stronghold after 28 years. This historic win marks a major political shift in Maharashtra’s urban politics.

In the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, the Mahayuti alliance won 89 out of 227 wards. Across Maharashtra’s municipal corporation elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti achieved a landslide victory by winning 23 out of 29 municipal corporations.

Overall, out of 2,869 seats in Maharashtra’s urban local body elections, the Mahayuti alliance secured 1,844 seats, while the Maha Aghadi managed to win only 206 seats. Other parties and independents won 819 seats.

This decisive mandate reflects strong public support for the BJP-led alliance and marks a significant setback for the opposition in Maharashtra.
