The fourth tower of the Bucks and Berks and Surrey Young Ringers outing to the Hackney area.
St Mark’s Church in Dalston has a peal of eight bells cast in 1877 by John Warner and Sons. They produce a deep, howly, and boomy sound. Overall a rather characterful noise from these ancient buckets! These are actually one year younger than the eight at Holloway.
The bells go horribly and are super difficult to ring! This is not helped with the bells being hung on plain bearings, however, the tenor is the only bell on ball bearings, but in my experience with the bell it hardly helps. The tenor is very difficult to get up right hence why we had three on it! It was good helping Jamie at the end as well. In this video shows the tenor being rung up, some plain hunt on 7 called by Peter Jasper with Young Luke having a go on the mighty tenor! And then followed by the miss and catch of the back six! Enjoy!
