1. Meaning vs. Purpose - The Fundamental Distinction
Meaning is arbitrary and self-centered: "I exist, therefore I search for meaning." Purpose is objective and mission-centered: "A purpose exists, therefore I was created." Judaism doesn't ask "How can I make my life meaningful?" but rather "What is the purpose I was created to fulfill?"

2. The Theological Requirements for Purpose
Purpose requires: (a) Belief in a Creator, (b) Belief that the Creator has a purpose, (c) Belief that the Creator revealed that purpose (Torah at Sinai), (d) Rejection of pantheism, deism, and idolatry, (e) Belief in God as active Master, not distant Creator.

3. Divine Providence Extends to Everything
The Baal Shem Tov taught that every detail in creation - from the flutter of a leaf to your "accidental" wrong turn - is under divine supervision. Nothing is random. Everything relates to the grand design of creation. Your presence anywhere is a divine appointment.

4. Continuous Creation
God created something from nothing (ex nihilo). Since nothing has no basis to exist, God must continuously create everything at every instant. This means God is not just historically involved - He is creating you and everything around you right now.
