Putting AI at the centre of Budget 2026 is meant to catalyse discussion across Singapore, said Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah during Talking Point’s Budget Forum 2026 on Saturday (Feb 14).
She said allocating national resources to AI not only supports businesses and workers, but also sparks conversations in universities, conferences and companies — positioning Singapore as a hub for AI development.
On support for workers, Ms Indranee outlined a “twin engines” approach: helping individuals upskill through SkillsFuture, while also funding companies to train and redesign jobs. Enhanced ComLink+ programmes will continue supporting lower-income families to progress through education and employment.
