A rainbow gluebook is a vibrant, color-themed art journal where each page (or set of pages) focuses on a different color of the rainbow. It blends collage, scrapbooking, and junk journaling, with a strong emphasis on gathering and gluing colorful pieces to create bold, cohesive spreads.
I use any glue I can get my hands on—stick glue, rubber cement, and Fabri-Tac—along with magazine cutouts, stickers, washi tape, painted papers, receipts, fabric scraps, packaging, ephemera, and even simple doodles to build layered, textured pages that celebrate a single color.
A rainbow gluebooking project often moves in sequence:
Red → Orange → Yellow → Green → Blue → Indigo → Violet, sometimes with extra pages for pink, black, white, or mixed colors. The result is a joyful, eclectic, highly personal book that feels like a visual treasure hunt, full of patterns, shapes, and textures gathered purely for the joy of color.
