New Town Action Area III is a developing locality having a combination of residential, commercial and institutional areas. Situated on the north-eastern part of Kolkata, the locality is surrounded by Action Area I & II as well as the village areas of Ganragari, Hudarait, Dharmatala Pachuria, Kulberia and Chandakanthal Beria.
